A shared boudoir shoot in High Wycombe can be one of the best ways to ease into the experience - especially if you’re feeling a bit nervous about stepping in front of the camera.

This shoot took place at Studio 88 in High Wycombe, with two friends who decided to book together for a simple reason… moral support.

They weren’t models. They weren’t completely confident. They just wanted to try something different, and doing it together made that first step a lot easier.

Why book a shared boudoir shoot?

For a lot of people, the hardest part of a boudoir shoot is just getting started.

Booking with a friend changes that completely.

  • You’re not walking into the unknown alone
  • You’ve got someone you trust there with you
  • The whole experience feels more relaxed from the start

There’s also a practical side to it… sharing the session makes it more accessible without compromising the experience.

But more than anything, it shifts the energy. What could feel intimidating on your own ends up feeling fun, supportive, and genuinely enjoyable.

What this shoot was actually like

This session at Studio 88 in High Wycombe was a perfect example of how well this works.

At the start, both were a bit unsure. That’s normal. Most people are.

We kept things simple:

  • eased in with relaxed, natural poses
  • no pressure to perform
  • no expectation to “get it right” straight away

They didn’t shoot together. Each had their own time in front of the camera while the other stepped out or stayed off-set, depending on what they were comfortable with.

As the session went on, you could see the shift.

The nerves dropped. The confidence built.

By the end, they were suggesting ideas, laughing, and completely in the moment.

That’s the bit people don’t expect… it stops feeling like something scary and starts feeling like something you actually enjoy.

Is it awkward sharing a boudoir shoot?

Short answer… no.

Not when it’s done properly.

You’re not competing with each other. You’re not being compared. Each person gets their own space, their own time, and their own images.

Most people find it’s actually the opposite of awkward:

  • you hype each other up
  • you relax quicker
  • you feel more at ease in the room

And if either of you wants complete privacy at any point, that’s always respected. No pressure, no pushing.

What if one of you is more confident than the other?

This comes up a lot.

It doesn’t matter.

Everyone starts at a different level, and the session is guided around that. One person might take a bit longer to warm up… that’s completely fine.

The goal isn’t to force confidence.

It’s to build it naturally.

Why experience matters in boudoir photography

Boudoir isn’t just about taking photos… it’s about how the whole experience feels.

With over 15 years of professional photography experience, I’ve worked with people at every confidence level - from first-timers who are nervous walking through the door, to clients who now treat shoots as something they genuinely look forward to.

Everything is paced around you:

  • clear direction when you need it
  • space to relax into it
  • no pressure to perform

And nothing is ever shared without your permission. Privacy is always the default.

Boudoir Photography FAQs

Do you shoot together in a shared boudoir shoot?

Both options are possible. Most shared shoots are done individually, taking turns, so each person gets a full, personal set of images. If you want a few shots together, that can be included - just let me know beforehand.

Do we need to be the same confidence level?

Not at all. It’s really common for one person to feel more confident than the other. I guide each of you individually, so you’re not expected to match each other. Everyone works at their own pace.

How does image privacy work?

Your images are completely private by default. Nothing is shared anywhere unless you’ve given clear permission after you’ve received your gallery.

What should we bring to a boudoir shoot?

Bring outfits you feel good in… lingerie, oversized shirts, bodysuits, or even something more casual. Most people bring 2–4 options. I can guide you on this before your shoot if needed.

Will you help with posing?

Yes - fully. You don’t need any experience. I guide everything step by step so you’re never left wondering what to do.

Where do the shoots take place?

Shoots are held in private, pre-selected locations across High Wycombe and the surrounding areas. They’re chosen specifically to feel comfortable, discreet, and suited to boudoir photography.

Can I book a shared shoot on any package?

Shared boudoir shoots with a friend are available on Signature packages and above, as the extra time allows both people to have a relaxed, properly guided experience.

How long does a boudoir shoot last?

Session length depends on the package you choose - usually between 1.5 and 2 hours. All shoots allow enough time to settle in, change outfits, and build confidence as you go.

Do I need to be confident before booking?

No… that’s the whole point. Most clients aren’t. Confidence builds during the shoot, not before it.

How do I book?

Start by getting in touch or checking the Services page. From there, we’ll lock in a date, go through any questions, and get everything set up for your shoot.
